OUR MASSAGE SERVICES

After consulting with one of our professionals, we will plan a healing process that is correct for your situation.  Some of the methods we use follow:

Deep Tissue: A deliberate massage technique that is applied with the use of thumbs, forearm and elbow pressure in order to release the deep muscle tension. Less oil is used for this type of massage. Deep tissue massage is best for people for who require a deeper pressure to relax, people who have migraine conditions, chronic shoulder pain and low back issues caused by hamstring tightness.

Swedish Massage: It is the most common form massage and is the foundation of massage education. Swedish massage and movement were created by Swedish gymnast, Peter Henry Ling and Dutch practitioner, Johan Georg Mezger. Through each of their studies they developed a system of long strokes, kneading, friction and range of motion movements that aid the body in healing. This massage is a lighter touch than deep tissue that increases circulation, relaxes muscles and stretches the joints. For people who have sleeping problems Swedish massage is believed to be the equivalent of a 2 mile walk.

Neuromuscular Reeducation Therapy: A reeducation of the neuromuscular system that is sometimes called Trigger Point, is strong static pressure applied to noxious nerve firing to break the cycle of pain by interfering with the brains signals for the muscle to spasm. This therapy is good for early onset of chronic pain.

Arthritis and Massage Intervention:
A therapist who has this training has a deep understanding of the various types of arthritis and when massage is appropriate or contraindicated. This type of therapy is mostly stretching and delicate massage technique.
Aromatherapy: The practice of using essential oils, which are the hormones of plants that are extracted from the leaves petals and stems, through massage and inhalation. These "oils" are applied to the skin and/or through inhalation. It is a slightly oilier massage and the oils need to be left on for 2-3 hours after the massage. This can be a simple treatment of a single essential oil or a custom blend. Custom blends are given to the client to take home. The majority of the product we use is Aroma Care, by Original Swiss Aromatics, which is of the highest quality. Essential oils can relieve the digestive system, deepen relaxation, help with sleep problems and many other indications. Cranial sacral Therapy: A light touch therapy that allows the therapist to tune into the body’s cerebral spinal fluid movement in order to gently work the spine and cranium to optimize the spinal fluid movement. This technique is designed to relax the fascia of the body as well as relax the spine and cranium to allow the body’s natural healing abilities to work at it’s full potential.
Fibromyalgia and Massage: Massage therapy is believed to be one of the most effective treatments for the pain and stiffness caused by Fibromyalgia. Massage can relieve pain by increasing circulation to repair the injured muscle more quickly and by helping the patient relax in order to sleep better.
